Community Shade Trees can be planted anywhere!
In addition to delivery of your desert appropriate trees, Trees for Tucson can provide tree project assistance. We can help you plan and develop participation in a tree planting or tree maintenance event in your community. We can help you assess and select optimal planting locations, choose the best-performing tree species, and possibly match your project with volunteer groups eager to assist with tree projects. We can provide loaner tools from our Tool Bank, and assist with BlueStake and any required permits as well. If you’d want assistance with your project please contact us early as our calendar does fill up.
Community Shade Trees are $25 per 5 gallon sized tree, or $45 per 15 gallon tree (delivery included). There is no quantity limit. All trees are high quality, desert adapted, locally and professionally grown. We recommend planting 5 gallon trees because they provide the best value, are easiest to plant, and become established much quicker. We also have a limited supply of 15 gallon trees available.
For every each tree you plant, consider adding a 2 cu ft. bag of mulch. Your new trees will require much less water if they have the benefit of a 3″ layer of mulch in the basin. We recommend one 2 cu ft. bag per 5 gallon tree. Mulch can be purchased for $10 per 2 cu ft. bag (delivery included).
Order your Community Shade Trees easily through Trees for Tucson’s online ordering system. If you need financial assistance with your project you may apply for our mini-grant program.
Trees for Schools

Our education and outreach program is supported in part by a grant from the Arizona State Forestry Division.
