- Be Present, Be Safe:
– Embrace the moment. Avoid distractions like cell phones and headphones. Keep your ears and eyes open for your safety and for the safety of those around you.
- Covered Feet:
– We live in the Sonoran Desert, where everything is sharp! Protect your feet with closed-toe shoes. No sandals.
- Dress for the Occasion:
– Wear long pants and sleeves to protect against the sun and thorns. Hi-visibility vests must be worn by all volunteers working on or near streets.
- Be Sun Savvy:
– Embrace the desert sun by wearing a stylish sun hat and applying sunscreen.
- Hydrate Your Body:
– Water is life, especially in the desert. Carry a water bottle and stay hydrated.
- Hands-On Protection:
– Gloves are essential. Safely interact with nature throughout the city while protecting your hands.
- Hazardous Items:
– Be cautious with potentially dangerous items. Broken glass should only be cleaned by adults over 18 and placed in a solid container (not in plastic bags). Do not attempt to pick up medical waste, condoms, chemicals, dead animals, or hypodermic needles.
- Work in Daylight:
– Our community shines brightest when we work together in daylight. No cleanups before 7 AM or after 5 PM.

- Aprovecha el momento. Evita distracciones como los teléfonos celulares y los audífonos. Mantén tus oídos y ojos abiertos para tu seguridad y la de quienes te rodean.
Pies Cubiertos:
- Vivimos en el Desierto de Sonora, ¡donde todo es afilado! Protege tus pies con zapatos cerrados. No sandalias.
Vístete para la Ocasión:
- Usa pantalones largos y mangas largas para protegerte del sol y las espinas. Los chalecos de alta visibilidad deben ser usados por todos los voluntarios que trabajen en o cerca de calles.
Sé Inteligente con el Sol:
- Aprovecha el sol del desierto usando un sombrero elegante y aplicando protector solar.
Hidrata tu Cuerpo:
- El agua es vida, especialmente en el desierto. Lleva una botella de agua y mantente hidratado.
Protección de Manos:
- Los guantes son esenciales. Interactúa de manera segura con la naturaleza en toda la ciudad mientras proteges tus manos.
Objetos Peligrosos:
- Ten cuidado con los objetos potencialmente peligrosos. El vidrio roto solo debe ser recogido por adultos mayores de 18 años y colocado en un contenedor sólido (no en bolsas plásticas). No intentes recoger desechos médicos, condones, productos químicos, animales muertos o agujas hipodérmicas.
Trabaja Durante el Día:
- Nuestra comunidad brilla más cuando trabajamos juntos durante el día. No hagas limpiezas antes de las 7 AM ni después de las 5 PM.
