Large evergreen shrub or small tree with a rounded crown, short trunk that bears edible fruit. Loquats flower in the fall/winter and the yellow-orange fruits ripen in early spring, with the flavor of the fruit being similar to a peach or apricot. While drought tolerant, Loquats will need extra watering for decent fruit production. Can suffer from leaf scorch during the hot summer months if planted in direct afternoon sunlight.
