Tucson Clean & Beautiful board members, staff and community partners are advocates for increased tree canopy through planting and maintenance efforts, increased recycling and waste reduction opportunities, community-based litter cleanup and beautification, and much more. January 11, 2017: KVOA – TUSD students strive to clean up the community; and December 25, 2016: Arizona Daily Star – TUSD students help make their schools cleaner – Note: The Best Day Ever Kids Cleanup Challenge, a community-based initiative in South Tucson, was instrumental in requesting a certification of the cleanest schoolyards after its youth participants and community volunteers undertook extensive cleanup efforts in the area. Based on this request, TCB developed a pilot project for rating and providing feedback to schools based on site inspections, with Mission View Elementary being certified as the first litter-free school!
